CHAPEL

Welcome to all

Our Chapel is a lovely, intimate space within the School grounds for services and quiet reflection. While St Andrew’s has a strong Christian foundation, pupils from all religious faiths, and none, are welcome. The curriculum aims to provide a multi-cultural perspective and to create an awareness and understanding of several world religions.

Services
The calendar
Fun fact

Children in Years 3 – 8 attend Chapel every Friday. Services are often led by a visiting speaker, to which family members usually warmly invited. We have a large Chapel Choir and a Junior Choir to lead our services and visiting speakers frequently comment on the warmth of our worship. Pupils take active roles in most services, not only in the choir, but also as wardens and readers.

Our services are broadly Anglican in style and follow the traditional church calendar. Notable highlights are the Remembrance Service, the Leavers' Service in July and the popular Christmas Carol Service.

Thanksgiving at Harvest is a rich time when the Chapel is bedecked with offerings, bringing celebration, communion and (especially in Bible Week) fun and a little exuberance. A versatile and atmospheric building, choral and music concerts are also held here throughout the year, as well as the Pre-Prep Nativities.

The Chapel’s wooden pews were originally from St Andrew’s Church, Bradfield and, following a recent refurbishment, found a new home in our Chapel.
