Nursery near Pangbourne for children from 2.5 years old, 48 weeks of the year
Welcome to St Andrew's Nursery, where children from 2.5 years old, can join us for 48 weeks of the year. Being part of St Andrew's, Berkshire means even our littlest pupils get to enjoy the outstanding facilities on offer, including weekly swimming lessons, a flourishing music department, new Performing Arts Centre, Forest School and acres of space to explore.

Starting Nursery as an Acorn
Our youngest pupils - the Acorns - can join our Nursery from 2.5 years old. The minimum number of sessions an Acorn can attend are four per week – the equivalent of two full days or three mornings and an afternoon.
Nursery Oaks from 3 years old
Children who are already 3, can join St Andrew’s Nursery as an Oak. We ask that Oaks attend a minimum of six sessions per week - the equivalent to three full days or five mornings and an afternoon.
15 hours free childcare
As a registered childcare provider, we offer up to 15 hours free childcare per week between 8:30 and 11:30 am Monday to Friday (term-time only), the term after a child’s 3rd birthday. This is available until the end of their time in Nursery.

Nursery School Day
Nursery mornings run from 8.30 am – 12.00 pm, or 1 pm with a home cooked lunch. Afternoon sessions run from 1.00 pm – 3.30 pm. After school club is available until 5:00 pm (Late Club with snack) or 6:00 pm (Late Club including tea).

An inspiring skills-based curriculum preparing Nursery children for school
Nursery children learn through a combination of child-initiated play and teacher-led learning opportunities. Age-appropriate specialist subjects are taught in the afternoons and include swimming in our 25-metre indoor pool (from the Summer Term for our Acorns), French, PE, Music and Dance.
Acorns and Oaks also get plenty of time in our Nursery Garden and Nursery Woodland where they watch the seasons change, and where imaginations run free. Puddles become deep sea diving explorations, and tree stumps transform into minibeast safaris.
As little brains develop faster than any other time in their lives, being outdoors helps build personal, social, physical and language skills. It also allows our children to foster independence, confidence, teamwork and resilience.
When Acorns graduate to Oaks, preparations for 'big school' in Reception the following year begin. With small class sizes, our Nursery Team get to know every child individually, which means pupils progress at their own pace. Learn more about life in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 here.
Did you know our Nursery is open 48 weeks of the year?
St Andrew's Nursery is now available for 48 weeks of the year. During term, children enjoy a more structured day to help stretch those little developing minds, and in the holidays, our staff run multi-activity camps. During the holidays, Nursery is open Monday to Friday at 8:00 am - the same time our term-time School Day starts - and finishes at 5:00 pm. The only times Nursery isn't open, is on bank holidays, two weeks over Christmas and six of our INSET days. Older siblings can enjoy multi-activity camps hosted by our external provider, Next Level Camps.
Fun for those under 2.5 years old
For children under 2.5 years old, we host a free outdoor toddler group, Tree Tots, held in our Nursery Woodland throughout the year, bookable online here.
We also host Swim Tots for toddlers and parents/carers every week (term-time) in our heated indoor 25m swimming pool. Run by our Head of Swimming, sessions cost £5 and can be booked online here.
