In this new section, we will share initiatives and suggestions that the children have raised through their Pupil Voice forums. Each committee meets regularly, agendas and minutes are taken by senior pupils and actions agreed.

The children had a meeting with the Chef and catering manager to discuss the menus from the past few weeks, as well as launching a poster competition focused on Healthy Eating.
Charity Committee
The whole school Bring and Buy sale raised £510, raising the total funds this academic year to an amazing £10,294.
School Council
The children asked for a PSHE lesson focused on mental health, with a particular consideration for men, and Mr Howard then came to talk to both Year 8 classes and there will be follow up discussions in form group over the coming weeks.

Pre Prep Dolman - Friday 13th February 2.00pm
Year 1 and 2 parents are warmly invited to cheer on the Sections at the Pre Prep Dolman race! Please arrive at the hardcourt by 1:50 pm for the 2:00 pm start. Children may wear football boots if they have them (just be sure to practice tying laces at home) but outdoor trainers are perfectly fine as well.
Parents wishing to collect siblings to watch the Prep school races at 2:30pm can sign them out from the Pre-Prep buildings as usual.
Please note there will be no after-school clubs on Friday, 13th February. Children can go home straight after the event, and younger siblings may be collected early. A Late Club will still run until 5:00 pm, as usual please book in via SOCS.
Parent Meetings on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th February 4.15pm – 6.15pm
Thank you for signing up for your 15 minute meeting on Tuesday 10th February or Thursday 12th February. The notes will be published on the Parent Portal on Monday morning. If you have any problems accessing the Portal, please contact the School Office. The majority of co-curricular clubs including Late Club, will run as normal.
We are pleased to offer complimentary childcare in the Pre-Prep Hall for up to 15 minutes to enable you to attend your appointment. If childcare is required for longer than your meeting time, please book into SOCS for the regular Late Club, which will be held in the Nursery building as normal.
Changes to Pre Prep After-School Activity Clubs w/c 10th February
In order to accommodate various events taking place next week the following clubs, have unfortunately had to be cancelled (please note you will not be charged for these sessions):
Tuesday 10th February: Swimming Club
Thursday 12th February: 7.50am Taekwondo
Thursday 12th February: Creative Story telling
Friday 13th February: Acro and Tag Rugby
Late Club will operate as normal and the normal charges will apply. It is essential that you book through SOCS so we can staff and cater accordingly.
Speaker Series at St Andrew's - ‘Smartphones, Screen Time & AI' - Thursday 26th February
We are hosting a talk for parents on ‘Smartphones, Screen Time & AI: how to manage them and prevent dependency (inc. gaming, social media, TV)’ with Dr Aric Sigman at 8.30 am on Thursday 26th February in the PAC which we hope will be helpful to parents in all age groups.
Please let Olivia Graham know if you are able to attend so that we can keep an eye on numbers.
Nursery and Reception Camps – February Half Term
Holidays Camps for Nursery and Reception children will be running as normal from 16th – 20th February during Half Term from 8.00 am – 5.00 pm. You can still book here or by clicking the poster above.
Half Term Kit Check
All kit to be taken home for Half Term will be in the cloakrooms ready to collect on Friday 13th. Please send in a bag for life if you think it might be useful! Please take this opportunity to go through your child’s kit and check that it is all labelled and still fits them – the children seem to be growing!
The Dolman - 13th February
The Dolman is St Andrew's annual Prep School cross-country race around the grounds. All parents are welcome to attend and spectate from the South Terrace. On arrival, please follow instructions from our grounds team to park in the correct areas. Years 3 & 4 will race first from 2.30 pm. The final race will finish at 3.45 pm.
Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd for boys and girls in each of the age group races: Juniors, Middles and Seniors. The overall winning section trophy will be awarded in assembly after the half term break.
Sign Out
If your child doesn’t have a sibling to support, they are free to go home after their race. Year groups will collect their bags and sign out with their supervising staff:
Years 3 & 4 – Liz Hanford, Katy. Webber or Georgina Gray
Years 5 & 6 – Haig Howard, Richard Jones or George Weir
Years 7 & 8 – Sophie Hearn or James Fearn
Any remaining children can be signed out by Will Carter or Tanya Dimmick afterwards.
