On the last Saturday in January, our Sports Centre was transformed in to a spectacular performing arts space ready to host St Andrew's Got Talent 2024.
Joined by Judges, former Head of Drama, Ollie Kyte, former pupil and dance scholar, Poppy, 2023 Britain's Got Talent Semi-Finalist and dancer, Felix Clements, and Director, singer, dancer and actor, Damian Sollesse, our lucky audience was treated to a sensational showcase of diverse, eclectic and wonderful talents.
Performances ranged from dance routines, recitals, and bands, to 'dry' synchronized swimming, drama solos, and a puppet show, written and performed by some of our Year 5.
Impressively and seamlessly stage-managed, over twenty acts performed in just over three hours, including three from staff (robbed by the buzzer). A huge thanks must go to the talents of Jen Townsend of LiveFX Special Effects, whose pyrotechnics and set design made it feel like the real thing.
Congratulations to our winners, Jasper (seniors), Cheeky Trio acrobats, Alice G, Alice M-W and Elsie in Year 3 (juniors) and The Coffee Rockets, Ludo, Daniel and Jacob (the audience vote), and to every act who bravely and creatively got up on stage to perform to a packed-out audience.
Deputy Head (Pupil Wellbeing) and co-director of the show, Kirsty Parkhouse, said:
“We were absolutely delighted by the wonderful range of talent from the performers on Saturday night.”
Ed Graham, Head Master, concluded:
“My sincere thanks to all those who came to help out and made the evening the success it was.”
Here's a sneak preview of behind-the-scenes in rehearsal and during the performance, until the feature film version is released next month.
