Year 7 & 8 'Jump Around' for their formal dinner

For our Year 7 & 8, not much could top the end of their Spring Term, than the 2023 formal dinner. Having received invitations from Head Master, Ed Graham, by post, pupils excitedly RSVP'd, and set about planning their hairdos, outfits and for some, their (final) speeches.

Thanks to our parent volunteers, and maintenance team, our Senior Dining Room (SDR) was meticulously transformed into a twinkly, on-brand, restaurant and party space, with gold, silver and aqua-blue balloons, and a large inflatable silver '2023'.

Complimented by giant foliage letters spelling 'PARTY' cleverly positioned over the roaring fire, and the delicate flower bouquets - two on every table - never has the SDR smelt so good.

After mocktails and group photos, pupils located their seats via the table plan and set about enjoying a sumptuous two-course meal courtesy of our catering team from Holroyd Howe.

After dinner, followed a game of 'Heads or Tails'; a second "Happy Birthday" for Year 7, Jamie; speeches from our Head Master, Heads and Deputy Heads; and then, finally, as if that wasn't enough, the surprise DJ was revealed in the Old Hall. Err..hmmm...drum roll, please!

DJ Billy, in Year 7, dropped the first tune of the night, House of Pain's, "Jump Around", to shrieks of delight and much excitement, and continued to keep everyone (including staff) dancing their socks off, as he mixed his way through a series of current and old classics.

An enormous "hip hip hoorah!" for all those involved in making it such a spectacular evening, and definitely one to remember. Jump around (jump around), jump up, jump up and get down. Have a very hoppy Easter!
